IPCRG 8th Scientific Meeting

22 Apr 2025

Thank you to everyone who supported, attended, presented and contributed to our successful 8th Scientific Meeting in Brașov, Romania.

Feedback has been very positive; delegates praising the meeting for presenting “many opportunities for dialogue with early career people, pharmacists and healthcare professionals” and commenting “the videos, young voices, and talks from global researchers were inspiring”, referring to the mix of delegates, the power of the Conversation Café format to enable dialogue, and the new Creative Enquiry format.

All abstracts presented at the meeting can be found in the resources section of the IPCRG website. Click 'Conferences' on the left-hand side and tick 'Brasov 2025'. Then, you can search by author name and keywords to find the abstracts you are looking for.

To take advantage of attendance, the FRESHAIR4Life annual meeting, our Research School on implementation science studies, and a second run of our Spirometry Simplified masterclass were scheduled before and afterwards. The main programme was based on accepted abstracts presented in a mix of oral presentations and conversation cafés, where delegates rotate every 15 minutes to a different author team to discuss their research. Topics included

  • CRD diagnosis
  • Asthma and COPD care
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation and supported self-management
  • Multi-morbidity
  • Engaging stakeholders in innovation
  • Respiratory health in young people

We invite you to review our social media coverage and pinned Instagram stories.

Congratulations to Anca Gabriela Dumitrescu for her prize-winning abstract 'Stakeholders’ perspectives on implementing a prevention intervention to reduce tobacco use among Romanian adolescents – Insights from FRESHAIR4Life project', selected from 77 abstracts and presentations and presented by Andrea Neculau at our Scientific Meeting in Brașov.

We would like to thank RespiRO, our Romanian group co-led by Catalina Panaitescu and Cristina Isar, who offered support along with the Transilvania University of Brasov for coordinating this meeting.

We invite you to join us in Tunisia next June (11-14th - save the dates!) for the 13th IPCRG World Conference and 1st North African Interdisciplinary Respiratory Forum, where IPCRG celebrates its 25th anniversary!
