Spirometry Simplified Masterclass - Brașov, Romania

IPCRG's novel teaching and learning programme Spirometry Simplified involves four e-learning modules, Masterclass, assessed portfolio and mentoring. The second Masterclass took place in Brașov, Romania at the 8th IPCRG Scientific Meeting. Following its successful debut last yeart in Athens, we had a full house with twenty-three delegates from Romania, North Macedonia, Portugal and India.
Before the Masterclass, participants completed the four online modules. The in-person session provided hands-on training in performing a linearity calibration check, conducting a spirometry test, and evaluating, recording and reporting spirometry results. IPCRG faculty Sundeep Salvi, Lindsay Zurba, Kike Cimas and Miguel Román Rodriguez facilitated the masterclass.
Following the success of the first two editions, which trained around 50 students, IPCRG is now in discussions with member countries to expand the programme. This initiative aims to empower primary care clinicians around the world by promoting the widespread and equitable adoption of spirometry, and also includes four e-learning modules, a portfolio and mentoring. Through research, education and advocacy, we strive to enable earlier and more accurate diagnosis to improve the quality of care for patients.
