FRESHAIR4Life annual meeting 2025

24 Apr 2025

FRESHAIR4Life is an implementation science programme to prevent 14-21 year olds' exposure to air pollution and tobacco in low and middle income countries. The Annual FRESHAIR4Life meeting, hosted the day before the IPCRG Scientific Meeting in Brasov, brought together consortium members, icnluding the Romanian team based in BraČ™ov, to discuss each country partner’s progress. Kyrgyzstan, Greece, and Pakistan have now entered the implementation phase, while Romania and Uganda are finalising their intervention choices. Participants worked in cross-country, cross-work package groups to explore how the project’s proposed outcomes could translate into real-world impact and to identify which results matter most to different target groups. Final sessions focused on the actions and leadership needed to achieve these outcomes and maximise impact.

IPCRG, leading on capacity building and communications, is currently designing a qualitative study to assess how the Tier 1 Teach the Teacher programme — comprising three teaching sessions and mentoring — has influenced Tier 2 teachers’ confidence and ability to train implementers to deliver interventions. IPCRG also continues to provide tailored support to national teams as they roll out interventions and develop their social media campaigns.
