Makerere University Lung Institute champions innovative lung health research that integrates disease prevention, clinical care and training in sub-Saharan Africa.
Sub-Saharan Africa is experiencing a convergence of communicable and non-communicable lung diseases such as tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and lung cancer. Makerere University Lung Institute is an academic response to this epidemic, with the goal of improving the health and life of those that need it the most.
