
Professor Samya Taright-Mahi
After obtaining a Doctorate in General Medicine in 1983 and a Specialized Studies Diploma in Pulmonology at the Faculty of Medicine of Algiers in 1987, Professor Samya Taright embarked on an academic hospital career.
She also attended the WHO Tuberculosis course in Paris in 1988 and received training in methodology and pedagogy in health sciences as part of the Maghreb Certificate in Medical Pedagogy.
In 1996, she defended a State Doctorate in Medical Sciences focusing on the management of asthma by general practitioners through an intervention based on physician training. She has held several leadership positions, including Director of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Medicine of Algiers, then Vice-Dean in charge of Pedagogy, Quality Assurance Manager at the University of Algiers, and President of the National Pedagogical Committee in Medicine responsible for the reform of medical studies in Algeria.
Currently, she is Head of the Respiratory Diseases Clinic at CHU Mustapha in Algiers and President of the Algerian Society of Pulmonology.
She is the author of numerous national and international communications and publications and has participated in multicentre surveys.
Areas of interest: management of chronic respiratory diseases, public health , medical pedagogy, and quality assurance.
