IPCRG Position Paper No. 2 - National respiratory guidelines used by primary care   
	
	
	      	
   
			This 3-page Position Paper provides a snapshot of the key features of various guidelines included in a mapping exercise carried out in June 2013. The guidelines are used by primary care for the chronic lung conditions commonly found in primary care: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, allergic rhinitis, community acquired pneumonia (CAP), obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and support for stopping smoking.
The Position Paper:
- outlines the importance of primary care and national guidelines

 - outlines the number and characteristic of national guidelines
 - discusses the role of evidence for guideline development
 - discusses guideline implementation
