The 11th IPCRG World Conference is now only two weeks away

20 Apr 2022

Dear IPCRG Friends & Colleagues,

REGISTER NOW for the 11th IPCRG World Conference 5-7 May 2022: Reunite, Evaluate, Advance.

The 11th IPCRG World Conference is now only two weeks away, starting on Thursday 5 May and finishing on Saturday 7 May 2022. Be assured there is still time to register and join the global primary care respiratory community either in person or online. We are live streaming all plenaries & two programme streams with the option for all registered delegates (in person and virtual) to view the sessions on catch-up over the next 3 months. Therefore even if you are really busy at work right now, register and watch more on catch-up!

Our Programme: Our Committees (some more members are shown below!) have designed a really great conference on the theme of Reunite, Evaluate, Advance. There has been a lot of new understanding and innovation prompted by - or in spite of - COVID-19 and this is the first opportunity to come together to share thoughts, experience and data.

We have a comprehensive and compelling bilingual scientific programme, in English and Spanish with inspiring sessions on climate action for respiratory health, cough, asthma, COPD, COVID-19, interstitial lung diseases, respiratory infections, the value of screening and case-finding, helping people quit tobacco, using gaming to engage clinicians in improving inhaler technique, spirometry, e-health, communication for health, behaviour change and more! We will also showcase the education and research that IPCRG has been leading over the last two years such as stakeholder engagement in global research, a new digital magazine to support people to manage their COPD and online teach the teacher programmes in English and Spanish.

Our conference is during the week of GINA’s World Asthma Day on 3 May. This year’s theme of Closing the Gaps in Asthma Care is close to IPCRG’s heart and we have several sessions in the programme aimed at reducing variation and improving the quality of asthma care. Here are a few:

  • Asthma Management, From Evidence to Implementation with Miguel Román Rodríguez, Spain, Jaime Correia de Sousa, Mário Morais de Almeida & Cláudia Vicente, Portugal, & Arzu Yorgancıoğlu, Turkey
  • How You Develop Guidelines for Primary care with Primary Care: The Spanish Asthma Example, Silvia Alvarez, Spain and Developing a Living Guideline: The Australian Asthma Handbook, Amanda Barnard, Australia
  • Asthma Right Care social movement exhibition sharing our free tools such as the famous Asthma Slide Rule.
