Dr GM Monsur Habib

Dr. GM Monsur Habib is a veteran primary care respiratory physician in Bangladesh, boasting 35 years of experience. His primary area of expertise lies in Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Over the years, he has compiled a comprehensive dayabase of approximately 75,000 patients suffering from asthma and COPD under his carei n Banfladesh. His commitment to specialisation led him to pursue extensive training in Pulmonary Rehabilitation at renowned institutions such as the University of Leicester and Edinburgh in the UK, KU Leuven in Belgium, and the University of Barcelona in Spain.

Dr. Habib has been a pivotal figure in establishing various organisations, including the IPCRG, Bangladesh Lung Foundation, BPCRS and RESPIRE. His journey in the field of respiratory medicine commenced with the completion of his MBBS degree from the University of Dhaka in 1982, after which he pursued several courses in respiratory medicine in the UK. His academic pursuits culmonated in a PhD in Pulmonary Rehabilitation from the University of Edinburgh spanning from 2018-2022.

Presently, Dr. Habib is actively engaged in a RESPIRE Global Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh. His dedication to advancing clinical practice and research is evident through his substantial body of published work and translated documents.

As part of the IPCRG Validation & Translation Group, Monsur provides translation and validation services in Bengali for IPCRG.
